President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the Federal Government’s ‘takeover’ of the Gombe State Airport.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya disclosed this to State House correspondents after meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to the governor, the planned takeover of the airport would be in the best interest of the facility as it would ensure the availability of the needed funding for its maintenance throughout its lifespan.
Recall that in June, officials of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had inspected facilities at the Gombe International Airport and certified it for the airlift of Muslim pilgrims in the state to Saudi Arabia.
