President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Nigerian Senate seeking the confirmation of a ministerial nominee, Mister Muazu Sambo from Taraba State.
This was contained in a letter forwarded to the Senate and read on the floor by President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan at the commencement of Tuesday plenary.
Sambo replaces the former Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, who was sacked in September, along with Sabo Nanono, ex-agriculture minister.

President Buhari also nominated six National Commissioners and one Resident Electoral Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The President also nominated five Commissioners for the National Population Commission (NPC), including Engr Benedict Opong (Akwa Ibom State); Mrs. Gloria Izofor (Bayelsa state), Barr. Mrs Patricia O. Iyayan Kuchi – (Benue State), Dr. Bala Haliru, (Kebbi State) and Dr Iyatayo Oyetunbi,(Oyo State).
