Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called for greater unity among Nigerians, saying the country has what it takes to achieve lasting prosperity.
Speaking at a Special Jumaat Service for the 66th Independence Anniversary at the Secretariat Mosque, Alausa, on Friday, Sanwo-Olu, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, said lack of unity remains Nigeria’s biggest challenge. He urged citizens, religious bodies, traditional institutions and the private sector to work together, citing the collective response during COVID-19 as a model.
In his sermon, Chief Imam Yunuss Al-Imam cautioned against tribalism, while Imam Dr. Saaid Ahmad urged reflection, gratitude and prayers for leaders.
