Operatives of the Ibafo Division, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested three suspects for conspiracy and theft of a motor vehicle and recovered a stolen ash-coloured Lexus RX 300 SUV.

The suspects are Obada Ezekiel, 27; Emmanuel Timothy, 25; and Yaya Yakubu, 27. The arrest was made on April 18, 2026, at about 11:00 a.m., following a credible anonymous tip-off which led operatives to track the suspects to a hideout within the Ibafo axis, where the stolen vehicle was recovered in their possession.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Obada Ezekiel, a private security guard attached to the vehicle, conspired with Emmanuel Timothy and Yaya Yakubu to steal the vehicle from Lagos and move it to Ibafo for disposal.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.

Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the operatives of the Ibafo Division for their swift response, professionalism, and effective utilization of intelligence, which led to the successful arrest and recovery of the stolen vehicle. He also appreciated members of the public for providing timely and useful information and reiterated the Command’s resolve to sustain intelligence-led policing across the state.

The Command assured residents of its commitment to the protection of lives and property and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through the Ogun State Police Command emergency lines: Gateway Shield (Toll-Free) 0800 000 9111; Emergency numbers 0906 283 7609, 0912 014 1706, 0915 102 7369, and 0708 497 2994.
