LAGOS — Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has welcomed learners, teachers and administrators back to school for the new academic year, urging them to approach the session with renewed hope and determination.
Describing education as the foundation of a stronger and more prosperous Lagos, Hamzat said today’s classrooms are nurturing tomorrow’s innovators, professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders. “To every learner returning to school, welcome to a new beginning and new possibilities. Dream boldly, study diligently and believe in yourself. The future you desire begins with what you learn today,” he said. He also commended teachers for their dedication, calling them indispensable partners in building the future of the state. “Every lesson taught, every child encouraged and every talent discovered takes Lagos another step forward. We celebrate our teachers and appreciate the enormous responsibility they carry.”
The Deputy Governor called for stronger collaboration among government, parents, educators, communities and the private sector to deliver quality, technology-driven and future-ready education for every child. He wished the entire education community a peaceful, productive and successful academic year, adding that investing in learners remains the state’s top priority. “Our children are our greatest investment. The Lagos of tomorrow is already sitting in our classrooms today. Let us give them every opportunity to succeed.”
