Students from the 81 Division Area of Responsibility have been honoured and rewarded for their outstanding performances in the Chief of Army Staff Literary Competition 2026. GOC 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, commended the winners for creativity, diligence, and academic excellence.

Top awardees include Ogunbona Faruq of Methodist Primary School, Ago-Oko, Abeokuta, who clinched First Place in the Primary School Essay category with ₦500,000. His schoolmate, Yekini Basirat Anuoluwa, took Second in Primary School Poetry and received ₦250,000. At the secondary level, Alvaro Osereme Aghenta of Glowfield International Secondary School, Lekki, placed Third in Art, while Mishael Miracle Chidinma of Command Day Secondary School, Ojo, placed Third in Essay. Both received ₦150,000 each.

Cheques were presented at ceremonies in Headquarters 81 Division, Lagos, and Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade, Abeokuta. Brig. Gen. MI Abdulkadir represented the GOC in Lagos, while Brig. Gen. FO Onu, represented by Col. EG Yusuf, presented in Abeokuta. Maj. Gen. Babalola said the competition aims to sharpen literary talent, improve understanding of the Army’s role in nation-building, and boost civil-military ties. Speaking for the winners, Mishael Miracle Chidinma thanked the COAS, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu NAM, and the GOC for supporting education and security across Lagos and Ogun.
