The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) marked a significant milestone on Friday, November 22, 2024, as it held its 3rd Convocation Ceremony at its Ibusa Campus in Delta State. The event, which celebrated the academic achievements of its graduating students, was graced by notable figures from the academic and military sectors.

In a statement signed by the Director of Naval Information, Commodore Adams-Aliu, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, served as the Special Guest of Honour, represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Abdullahi Dewu. In his address, Rear Admiral Dewu emphasized the university’s role in providing quality education and fostering excellence in diverse fields of study.

Established in December 2017 under the Private Universities Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation Republic of Nigeria 2004, ADUN continues to expand its academic offerings.

The university currently operates three faculties namely the Faculty of Arts, Management and Social Sciences which offers courses in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, English Language, History and International Studies, International Relations, and Tourism Studies.

The Faculty of Sciences offers courses in Biology, Chemistry, Cyber-Security, Computer Science, Forensic Science, Industrial Mathematics, Physics, and Software Engineering.

The Faculty of Law offers the LLB Degree in Law program.

Plans are underway to establish a Faculty of Engineering, with verification processes already in progress.

During the convocation ceremony, 100 students graduated from the university. Among them, seven students achieved first-class honors, while 51 and 41 students graduated with second-class upper and lower divisions, respectively. Only one student earned a third-class degree, underscoring the institution’s dedication to academic rigor and excellence.

As part of its commitment to making quality education accessible, ADUN recently reviewed its tuition and fees downward. Prospective students are encouraged to explore admission opportunities through the approved processes outlined by the National Universities Commission.
