Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has pledged stronger security for petroleum and energy infrastructure to curb economic sabotage.
He spoke when NMDPRA State Coordinator, Dr. Atilola Akinyemi, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to Eleweran, Abeokuta, to seek closer coordination on protection of distribution facilities, gas and CNG assets. Akinyemi outlined the Authority’s regulatory role under the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 and lauded police support for securing operations.
Ojajuni said protecting critical infrastructure is key to public safety, investor confidence and industrial growth, assuring lawful security support, intelligence sharing and stakeholder collaboration while respecting statutory mandates. He urged operators and residents to report suspicious activities around petroleum facilities.
