In a show of commitment to public safety, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 2, In-charge of Lagos and Ogun States, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, visited the bustling Sango Ota area to reassure residents and business owners of enhanced security measures during the Easter season and beyond.
The AIG was accompanied by the Area Commander of the Sango Ota Police Command, ACP Shola Oladele, who received commendations for maintaining law and order in the area. AIG Fayoade praised ACP Oladele and her team for their consistent efforts in safeguarding lives and property.
During the tour, AIG Fayoade emphasized the importance of community collaboration in achieving a safer environment. He reminded the public that while it is the duty of the Police to provide top-notch security, it is equally the responsibility of citizens to be vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities.
He said that everyone has a role to play in making their neighborhoods safe. He stated that the Police would continue to uphold their duty, but needed public support by speaking up when they notice anything unusual.
The visit has further strengthened public confidence in the Police Force’s readiness to secure the area, especially during festive seasons when criminal activities tend to spike.
Residents and business owners expressed appreciation for the AIG’s presence and reassurances, noting that visible engagement from top-ranking officers sends a strong message of protection and stability.
With continued cooperation between the community and the Police, Sango Ota appears set to enjoy a peaceful and secure Easter season and beyond.
