Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested three persons with disability for drug trafficking during separate raids in Anambra and Kwara states. On 6 May 2026, 60-year-old Romanus Nwabara was caught with 250 grams of skunk in Onitsha’s Akpaka Forest, while 25-year-old Amos Kenneth was nabbed in Ogbunike with tramadol, diazepam, exol 5, and skunk. In Kwara, Usman Salisu was intercepted along Bode Saadu with 6.3kg of skunk hidden in a school bag.
In a major bust, NDLEA’s Special Operations Unit raided a Lekki Phase 1 mansion used as a stash house and recovered 4,000 parcels of Loud, a high-grade imported cannabis weighing 2,326kg and valued at N5.8 billion. Two Mercedes buses and designer packaging materials were also seized. Other operations led to the arrest of Emmanuel Okeke with 129kg of skunk in Nasarawa, and three suspects with 766kg of skunk along the Okene/Lokoja highway. In Lagos’ Ijora Badia, two suspects were caught operating a makeshift skuchies factory where 270 litres of the illicit mix and tramadol were recovered.
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa commended the officers for the arrests and seizures, noting the balance between drug supply reduction and ongoing War Against Drug Abuse sensitization in schools, communities, and religious centers nationwide. He charged commands across the country to sustain the current operational tempo.
