Lagos Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has said the APC presidential primaries held across wards in Lagos were peaceful and transparent. After casting his vote at Ward A4, Ansar-ud-Deen Primary School in Epe LGA, he noted that accreditation, voting, and counting proceeded without incident, with members following the Option A4 open-ballot system.

According to Hamzat, voters queued behind the poster of their chosen candidate, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and one other aspirant on the ballot. At his ward, Tinubu received all recorded votes. He said the method mirrors what the party used in earlier primaries for legislative and governorship races, and commended members for arriving early and maintaining order throughout the process.

The deputy governor added that the large turnout reflected trust in Tinubu’s leadership and strong participation in the party’s internal democracy. Ward results will be collated at the local government level before transmission to the APC national secretariat. He said reports from other states also pointed to active engagement, and concluded that the exercise in his ward met the standard for openness and credibility.
