Ogun State Police Command has carried out intelligence-led operations across several divisions, leading to the arrest of five suspects including a father and son, and the recovery of four firearms. Seized items include one locally made pistol, one locally fabricated pistol, two dane guns, one live cartridge, and a stolen Tecno Android phone worth ₦180,000.
In one operation, Afon Division arrested Fatai Adegbola and his 23-year-old son Waliu after tracking a phone stolen on 8 May 2026. A search of their home with a warrant led to recovery of the phone, a locally made pistol, and a dane gun. Ilisan Remo Division recovered an abandoned locally fabricated pistol with one live cartridge during patrol on 27 May, while Ode Remo Division arrested Inioluwa Adesanya, 25, who confessed to stealing a dane gun while posing as a carpenter’s assistant. He also admitted affiliation with the Aye confraternity. All suspects and exhibits have been transferred to SCID Eleweran, Abeokuta for further investigation and prosecution.
CP Bode Ojajuni commended officers for their swift, professional response and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling violent crime, cultism, armed robbery, and illegal firearms.
