The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested 22-year-old Olamide Suleiman during a stop-and-search operation on Adetola Road, Aguda. According to the Command, officers found dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp on him, and a locally made pistol with one live cartridge in his bag.
During questioning, Suleiman allegedly linked the weapon to one “Emir” said to be staying at a hotel in Aguda. Police operatives traced the hotel and recovered a double-barrel gun from the room. The principal suspect, however, escaped before police arrived. The Command stated that investigation is ongoing and efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect and other members of the gang.
CP Tijani Fatai, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, praised the operatives for their alertness and reiterated the Command’s resolve to rid Lagos of crime. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest station or via the Command’s emergency numbers: 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, 08080193432, and 09168630929.
