Registration is now open for the Most Beautiful Girl in Ogun State, MBGO 2026, in what organizers describe as one of the state’s most impactful beauty and cultural initiatives. Founded by Ambassador Deji Bakare, former Mr. Nigeria and President of the Association of Models in Nigeria, MBGO is a purpose-driven platform focused on leadership, education, entrepreneurship, cultural preservation, and community development for young women.
Far beyond a conventional pageant, MBGO will identify and mentor young women with intelligence, integrity, and leadership potential to serve as ambassadors for Ogun State’s culture, tourism, and investment opportunities. Contestants from the 20 Local Government Areas will undergo intensive training in leadership, entrepreneurship, media, cultural education, personal branding, and community service. A major highlight of the 2026 edition is the introduction of the _Gateway Heritage & Trade Fair_, a one-day exhibition where each contestant will curate a stand showcasing her LGA’s heritage, tourism assets, local products, cuisine, fashion, and business opportunities. The fair aims to drive cultural exchange, economic promotion, and local development in partnership with stakeholders including the Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism and ALGON.
Speaking on the vision, Ambassador Deji Bakare said: _”MBGO is not just about crowning a queen. It is about building a generation of young women who understand their purpose, embrace leadership, celebrate their heritage, and become catalysts for meaningful change.”_ The organizers are calling for sponsorships and partnerships to support women’s empowerment, youth development, and cultural preservation.
