The General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, has challenged commanders to improve every environment they serve in through purposeful leadership. Speaking on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, during the commissioning of projects at Command Day Secondary School, Oshodi, Lagos, he said impactful initiatives are key to raising standards and boosting morale.

Facilities unveiled include a 300-seater Computer-Based Test Centre, a Mathematics Laboratory, a remodeled conference room, and full repainting of the school. Other additions are a refurbished Coaster bus, new students’ and staff furniture, 95 laptops, 55 ceiling and wall fans, two refrigerators, and other teaching aids aimed at enhancing learning outcomes.

Major General Babalola noted that the projects align with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, and demonstrate the Army’s commitment to welfare and education in its formations. He added that creating better learning conditions for children of personnel also assures troops on operations of their families’ wellbeing. Commandant of the school, Lt. Col. DS Yakubu, thanked the GOC and Army leadership for the support. The event drew senior officers, command school commandants, staff and guests, and ended with a tour of the facilities, souvenir presentation, and group photographs.
