Troops of 65 Battalion have uncovered and dismantled a suspected illegal bunkering site in the Orile area of Lagos State. The intelligence-driven operation, led by the Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. S. Adeojo, resulted in the arrest of six suspected oil bunkerers.
During the raid, the troops recovered four trucks, one pumping machine, and various pipes and drums believed to be used for siphoning and storing stolen petroleum products. The suspects, along with the seized equipment, have been handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, for further action.
Commending the troops, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, praised their professionalism and urged sustained pressure against economic saboteurs. He directed troops to maintain vigilance and continue operations to protect critical infrastructure within the 81 Division Area of Responsibility.
