Veteran actor, filmmaker and former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Delta State, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) will headline the 6th International Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Nigeria Digital Content Regulation Conference slated for November 18, 2026 at MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

His selection is historic – he becomes the first male film practitioner to deliver the conference keynote, succeeding Mo Abudu (2024) and Bolanle Austen-Peters (2025).

Themed “Film and Content Production in the Digital Era: Balancing Regulation and Innovation”, the conference convened by the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) will bring together filmmakers, content creators, streaming platforms, policymakers, academics and industry stakeholders to interrogate regulation, innovation, distribution and sustainability in the digital content ecosystem.

With a career spanning over three decades in journalism, film, television, entrepreneurship and public service, RMD has featured in over 60 productions locally and internationally. He is founder of White Water Limited and RMD Productions, and founder of MISTER – Nigeria’s first all-gloss men’s lifestyle magazine. He served Delta State as Special Adviser and Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, and through the Richard Mofe-Damijo Foundation supports capacity building and talent development.

NFVCB Executive Director/CEO, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, said RMD’s career embodies the intersection of creativity, enterprise and governance the conference seeks to explore.

“We are delighted to have Richard Mofe-Damijo deliver the keynote. RMD represents a distinctive blend of creative excellence, entrepreneurial experience and public service. His journey offers valuable perspectives on the opportunities before Nigeria’s creative industries and the policy conversations required to sustain growth,” Husseini said.

He noted that the 2026 theme captures the regulator’s responsibility to enable innovation while protecting audiences and promoting responsible content.

The PAO-NDCRC honours the late Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, founder of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), and serves as NFVCB’s annual platform for dialogue on film and digital content regulation.
