Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested Alhaji Saburi Lateef Ayinde, popularly known as “OKI-OCEAN”, in connection with the February murder of 61-year-old retired teacher, Mrs Adedotun Adeteju Oluwaseun, in Abeokuta.

The victim was found dead inside the toilet of her home at Agbaakin Emere, Bode-Olude, on February 28, 2026 — a day after attending a retirement party organised by her colleagues. Investigations showed she was allegedly strangled and macheted during an altercation.

The case was transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, leading to the arrest of the suspect on October 19, 2026. Police said Ayinde confessed to the killing and linked it to a financial transaction, alleging he gave the deceased ₦3.45 million for safekeeping with an agreement that she would lend him ₦1.5 million to buy another vehicle. Police said efforts are ongoing to verify his claims.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the investigating team for their diligence and said the suspect would be arraigned once investigation is concluded.
