Operatives of SWAT Base 7, Abule Iroko, under the Ogun State Police Command, have arrested a suspected cultist and recovered two locally made pistols, three live cartridges and a battle axe.
The suspect, 26-year-old Okiki Muhammed Adewusi, aka “Baba Obo”, was arrested at about 8 p.m. on October 26 in Ore, Atan, following credible intelligence. A search of his residence yielded a pistol and three cartridges. Police said he allegedly admitted membership of the Eiye Confraternity. Information from him led to a follow-up operation at about 6:30 a.m. on October 27, where a second pistol and a battle axe were recovered.
CP Bode Ojajuni commended the team for vigilance and intelligence-led policing, reiterating the Command’s commitment to dismantling cult groups and mopping up illegal firearms, and urged public support with credible information. Investigations are ongoing.
