Alimosho General Hospital, Igando, on Wednesday took healthcare services to the Nigeria Police Force, Area M Command, Idimu, with a full-scale medical outreach for officers and personnel. Organised by the Friends of Alimosho General Hospital Committee in partnership with the Command, the programme featured screenings, consultations, counselling and other essential health services.
Speaking at the event, Committee Chairman, Dr. Rukayat Ajibola-Bakare, said the outreach has been running for over five years and was brought to Area M because of the hospital’s existing partnership with the police. She praised Medical Director, Dr. Akinyele Akinlade, for his support. Dr. Akinlade urged officers to prioritise their health, noting the physical and mental demands of policing. He encouraged them to use their HMO plans, go for regular check-ups, and seek care early. “We have brought Alimosho General Hospital to you. Use this opportunity to know your health status,” he told the officers.
Area M Commander, ACP Tokunbo Abaniwonda, thanked the hospital team and said stronger collaboration between health institutions and the police is key to a healthier and safer society. Services delivered included blood pressure and blood sugar tests, eye and oral health checks, physiotherapy assessment, dietary counselling, pharmacy services and general medical consultations. The hospital said it remains committed to sustaining the partnership to ensure frontline officers have access to quality care.
