The Nigeria Police Force has named Channels Television News anchor Anne Nwaghodoh as an NPF Youth Ambassador under its International Youth Day 2026 – National Youth Leadership and Security Initiative. The investiture was conducted by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, together with POWA President, Chief Mrs Mutiat Olufunmilola Disu. The Force said the appointment recognizes Nwaghodoh’s media influence and her capacity to help build stronger dialogue and trust between the Police and young Nigerians.
In her new role, Nwaghodoh will act as a credible link between the NPF and Nigerian youths. She is expected to promote positive Police–youth relations, encourage respect for the law, and advocate peaceful participation in democracy as the 2027 elections approach. Her duties will also include amplifying NPF youth programmes, speaking against misinformation, disinformation and digital thuggery, and using media storytelling to showcase young Nigerians driving innovation, entrepreneurship and community service.
The NPF emphasized that the appointment is not symbolic. The Youth Ambassador platform is meant to engage credible young influencers in promoting peace, security awareness and national unity. “YOUTHS ARE NOT JUST THE FUTURE. THEY ARE PARTNERS IN BUILDING NIGERIA TODAY,” IGP Disu said, noting the Force is shifting from a purely enforcement approach to one rooted in partnership and prevention. The campaign message remains: MY FUTURE IS GREATER THAN POLITICAL AND DIGITAL THUGGERY.
