The increasing crime rate in Lagos is a nut that requires continuous attention and commitment of the government and all stakeholders to crack if we must have a crime free Lagos.
Crime rates has been abated in Lagos, especially those involved in drugs, vandalism and theft. Corruption, bribery, scam, assault, armed robbery and Kidnapping is a general threat in the Country at large and not limited to only Lagos.
Most urban metropolis of the state have been faced with several criminal records, but recently Gowon, Abesan Estates and it’s environs have not recorded any form of menace or robbery incident, because of the swift response of security personnel in these area have proven to be effective in combating criminal elements in the area.
The Police officer in Charge of Gowon Estate Division, CSP Sulaiman Kabir and his team have always responded to emergency crime incidents in the area and several achievements have been recorded in recent weeks.
The synergy between various security agencies and the use of technology as directed by the Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi have proven to be the best way to tackle crime in the area and this is possible due to the donations of crime fighting equipments and patrol vehicle to the Police Division by various stakeholders of Gowon Estate and environ.
The recent donation of Patrol vehicles to the Gowon Estate Division of the Police force is an attestation and compliment to the synergy and rigorous work of ensuring a peaceful and secure environment being exhibited by dedicated and selfless police officers.
Recent report by some columnist on the increase in late night robbery perpetrated by criminals in Gowon estate and its environs is baseless and unfounded, as there have been no credible report of such incident.
The DPO of Gowon Estate Division, CSP Sulaiman Kabir vehemently debunked the rumored report of increasing rate of armed robbery in his area of jurisdiction.
He said, increased patrol and surveillance have destabilized and frustrate any heinous act to be perpetrated by some criminal elements in the area.
Grassroot reporters can authoritatively report that the swift response of Police to emergency criminal issues in Gowon estate and environ have led to several arrests and this action have made the area an unsafe place for criminals to operate.
The residents of the estates and it’s environs have also appealed to the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration to continuously equip the police to fight crime, and also enforce a total ban of motorcycles across the state to compliment the relative peace the state have enjoyed since the ban of motorcycle on the high way and some local government areas across the state.
The DPO of Gowon Estate Division, CSP Sulaiman Kabir appreciates the selfless leadership of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, and all the relevant stakeholders of the community who have supported the Police in tackling criminal elements in the area.
He warned residents to observe security measures at all time and report any suspicious movement of items or persons to the police.
The DPO released a free toll line for the residents to reach him any time of the day in case of emergency situations.
The Police presence in Gowon and it environs has curbed crime to the barest minimal, the Police team led by the DPO, Sulaiman Mohammed Kabir and his team have been applauded by relevant stakeholders in the community, his excellent performances, and effective emergency response to any crime scene in Gowon axis has been applauded in recent time and encouraged to do more in maintaining the relative peace similarly enjoyed in his jurisdiction.
