Organizers of the Geneith Health Competition are urging students across Nigeria to intensify preparations ahead of the October 30, 2026 national contest. Prince Cletus Sunday Iloabanafor, CEOAFRICA Managing Director and competition initiator, alongside Chief Emmanuel Umenwa, Chairman of sponsor Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited, said the last weeks are critical for disciplined study, research, and critical thinking. They also appealed to school administrators to ensure every eligible student is registered. The GHC, organized by CEOAFRICA, sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals, and powered by Coatal Forte Softgel, targets malaria elimination through education and youth engagement. It has Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare endorsement, and enrollment remains open at http://www.geneithhealthcompetition.com.
The competition has recorded strong nationwide uptake as a platform for grooming young health advocates. Iloabanafor called it a “powerful national movement” that is turning students into informed malaria ambassadors, while Umenwa said young Nigerians have the energy and digital skills to tackle a disease that still claims many lives. A ₦1 billion prize pool has been set aside for cash rewards, scholarships, training, materials, and gifts, with additional prizes at different contest stages. Organizers advised participants to track updates only through official emails and the competition portal, and for school project activators to wear approved IDs during registration visits to ensure transparency.
Beyond the classroom, GHC is designed to produce community-based Malaria Ambassadors who will promote prevention at home, in schools, and in communities. The push comes as Nigeria continues to shoulder one of the world’s heaviest malaria burdens, with the Coordinating Minister of Health, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, previously describing the project as timely. Umenwa said the initiative reflects Geneith’s commitment to youth empowerment and healthcare under the theme “Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite and Stay Committed.” With anticipation building across campuses, organizers say arrangements are in place for a world-class contest to celebrate academic excellence and expand the youth-led campaign against malaria.
