Chief Emeka Ihedioha, the immediate previous governor of Imo State, claims that Senator Hope Uzodimma, his replacement, is scared of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s release as the leader of the illegal Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
This was stated by Ihedioha in a statement he personally signed and titled “When Silence is not golden,” in response to a fictitious letter allegedly written by him requesting that Kanu be kept in custody despite the Court of Appeal’s decision declaring him free and acquitted.
“If anyone should be afraid of a free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, it is Hope Uzodimma,” Ihedioha said. He and other characters’ willingness to create such a letter demonstrates how far they will go to maintain the authority they obtained dishonestly. While Nigerians are aware that those who can fabricate polling results to gain manufactured votes can fabricate anything, I have chosen not to remain silent in the face of this criminal defamation of my character because as the 2023 elections draw nearer, the evil plots will become more sophisticated.

“I therefore encourage the security agencies to investigate those behind this clear fraud and bring them to justice,” he said, urging them to be identified and brought to justice.
He claimed that after his removal from office, the people responsible realized that the bigger problem was his alleged popularity with the populace and that they were making a concerted effort to damage it.
Ihedioha said, “I comprehend their predicament. They realized that the bigger battle was winning the hearts and minds of the people after their evil plot to have me removed from office was successful. That is also proving challenging. The reason they are now desperate is that they haven’t been able to win over Imo State’s good people in the last 34 months. also becoming in peril. So risky that they are now collaborating with political outlaws outside of parties.
They dreaded Emeka Ihedioha while he was in office. However, they have also come to the sobering realization that I have remained a greater adversary even after leaving office, which is why they have waged a never-ending campaign of defamation with the aim of tarnishing my character and dividing Imolites from me. There are no off-limits when doing this. They have falsified documents, created phony voicemails, committed fraud, and made the most of social media to spread misinformation.
Additionally, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated, “They use issues that are very dear to our people in this nefarious project. Two of these deceptive acts included a letter that I allegedly wrote to the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, urging him not to follow the decision of the Appeal Court that cleared Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, in order to protect the 2023 elections.
Knowing my background and current situation, it is absurd and hilarious for me to write to the Attorney General of the Federation and request that he continue to unjustly hold onto Nnamdi Kanu even after a court of competent jurisdiction has released him. What advantages will a letter like this give me in a situation that is so volatile, sensitive, and of public interest. Does that make any sense?

Ihedioha, who is rumored to be eyeing the governor’s office in Imo, said he was not overly concerned because “our people know better.” However, we can’t keep letting crime take over.
But he insisted that since his silence began on January 14, 2020, when he was ousted, “when the Supreme Court of Nigeria supplanted the electoral will of the good people of Imo State by removing me from office, I have maintained a studious silence, refusing to join arguments with dissidents who orchestrated the judicial heist despite all the provocations. I deliberately chose to follow the adage “quiet is golden” in order to avoid stirring up emotions in our Dear State. But eventually, the benefits of silence fade. Now is that moment. Some individuals seem dissatisfied with their stolen mandate.
