The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 32 suspects for armed robbery, cultism and unlawful possession of firearms in operations recorded in September 2026, recovering 43 vehicles, five pump-action guns, five locally made pistols, ammunition and N2.5m cash.
Among the cases, police arrested a 21-year-old driver, Olumide Olusola, who allegedly knocked down and dragged a sergeant to death during stop-and-search in Egbeda on Sept 26. Other operations led to the arrest of armed robbery suspects in Abule Egba, burglary gangs from Mushin operating in Lekki, and 12 suspected Eiye cultists in Badagry with criminal charms. Operatives also nabbed a 15-year-old arms courier in Oshodi conveying pistols concealed in a loaf of bread.
The Command also impounded over 41 vehicles for covered number plates and unregistered status in an early-morning enforcement today. Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, commended operatives and thanked residents for credible information, reiterating commitment to public safety.
