The Lagos State Police Command, through its’ spokesman, Ben Hundeyin has given accounts of the arrests and several other offences that were voided by the able and watchful operations of it’s officers and men in Lagos.
Across different parts of the state, offences ranging from electoral vices, kidnapping, cultism, interethnic clashes, pickpocketing and armed robbery were voided. Items such as axes, locally made pistols, shotguns, charms, knives, daggers, pepper spray, ballot boxes, ballot papers and other electoral materials were also recovered.
For electoral offences during both the presidential and gubernatorial elections, a total of 11 arrests were made. 8 of the suspects have been handed over to INEC, while the command has arrested 3 and in both cases, they have been transferred to the force headquarters in Abuja by the order of the inspector general for prosecution.
Earlier today, a truck belonging to the US consulate was recovered with the contents therein and due arrests were made.
He further spoke into attacks and threats by some members of the public and assured that investigations were underway and the outcome would be made public after investigations have been concluded.
