The Consul General of Lebanon in Lagos, His Excellency Mansour Chaya, paid a courtesy visit to AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom, head of FCID Annex Lagos, at Alagbon, Ikoyi on 5 May 2026. He highlighted the long-standing ties between Nigeria and Lebanon, noting the significant contributions of the Lebanese community to business and economic activity across the country. Chaya reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Nigerian institutions, particularly in security and law enforcement.

During the meeting, the Consul General pledged the Consulate’s support for Nigeria Police Force initiatives, including facilitating visa requests for officers where needed. He said a formal visit would be scheduled to further deepen the working relationship between both institutions. He also stressed the Consulate’s readiness to support investigations involving Lebanese nationals in line with existing cooperation through INTERPOL.

AIG Akpanudom welcomed the visit and reaffirmed FCID Annex Lagos’ readiness to work closely with the Lebanese Consulate to strengthen collaboration. He noted that both sides agreed to deepen cooperation and explore a formal legal framework to enhance mutual legal assistance, in line with the Inspector-General of Police’s mission to strengthen institutional partnerships for effective investigation and security.
