The Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar-Audu says the Federal government is committed to encouraging indigenous key players in the steel sector across the country in line with the eight cardinal points objective of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to industrialize Nigeria.

The Minister disclosed this in Ilorin the Kwara State capital during his official visit to the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and other indigenous stakeholders in the state where he noted that the current administration is working to grow the economy of the country by one trillion dollars which involves supporting indigenous key players in the steel sector.

According to the Minister of steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar-Audu the ministry is engaging the key industry players across the country with a view to turning around the economy.

Speaking on the efforts made at reviving the moribund Ajaokuta steel mill, the minister said funding is the greatest challenge as Nigeria needs in excess of two billion dollars to revive it.

The Minister also maintained that there is an ongoing discussion to have an industrial park at the Ajaoukuta steel mill to attract key players in the sector.
