ABEOKUTA — The Most Beautiful Girl in Ogun State 2026 held its audition on Sunday, 23rd August 2026 at Elysium Lounge, Abeokuta, drawing contestants from across the state. Following the exercise, 15 Local Government Areas have been officially shortlisted to compete in this year’s edition. The representatives are from Abeokuta, Ado-Odo/Ota, Ewekoro, Ifo, Ijebu, Ikenne, Imeko-Afon, Ipokia, Obafemi Owode, Odeda, Odogbolu, Ogun Waterside, Remo North, Sagamu and Yewa South.
Co-Owner and CEO, Ambassador Deji Bakare, said the 15-LGA format was adopted because some areas had low engagement and some contestants did not meet the selection criteria. He noted that the long-term vision is to have all 20 LGAs represented as the platform expands. According to Bakare, MBGO is built as “Beauty With Purpose” — a platform for young women to grow in confidence, leadership and service while promoting Ogun State’s culture and heritage.
The shortlisted contestants will now move into a development phase that includes training in public speaking, modelling, personal growth and community projects before the grand finale in November 2026. Details of the date and venue will be announced soon. The competition is supported by the Ogun State Government and powered by the Association of Models, with backing from key ministries, SO SAFE CORPS, and other partners.
