The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has issued a public notice on the shooting incident involving some officers during a raid at Okpanam area of Delta State, where tragically, a child of two years, Evan Onosebhvare was felled by a stray bullet and his brother also sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment.

The Chairman of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa, has set up a panel of inquiry for further investigation into the incident, to establish the actual facts of the case, after being briefed by the State command.

Also speaking on the incident, the Delta State Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force, has through it’s PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe also reacted to this situation by assuring that the Police has waded into the matter and would carry out comprehensive investigations. The parties involved in the case, are to appear before the Delta State CP Wale Abass on Monday, 17th July, 2023.

Meanwhile, the NDLEA has said that they are in touch with the family of the victim to provide necessary assistance during the duration of the investigation.
