Osogbo, Jan. 16, 2022 (NAN) A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Godwin Adebayo Support Foundation, on Saturday distributed food items to 500 vulnerable people in Ilashe Town located in Obokun Local Government Area (LGA) of Osun.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that items distributed included bags of rice, noodles, groundnut oil, among others.
In his remarks, the founder of the NGO, Mr Godwin Adedayo, said that the humanitarian gesture was to support the vulnerable in the community.
Adebayo noted that due to the harsh economic conditions in the country many families were finding it difficult to survive.
He said the foundation took it upon itself to do the little it could to touch the lives of the beneficiaries.
According to him, the foundation is in partnership with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to give back to vulnerable groups in the community.
Adedayo said the foundation would continue to put smiles on the faces of the people through various intervention programmes.
A PDP Chairman in Ibokun LGA, Mr Adelani Owoeye, praised the foundation for partnering with the party.
Owoeye said the party would continue to support the foundation in all its empowerment programmes.
He appealed to other NGOs to emulate the foundation by giving back to the people.
Earlier , the traditional ruler of Ilashe, Oba Jimoh Adeshina , commended the founder of the NGO for the free food given to the people.
He called on the community youths in diaspora to return home to help the vulnerable. (NAN (www.nannews.ng)
