The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has taken his statewide familiarisation tour to Idiroko and Ilaro Area Commands to deepen community policing and inter-agency collaboration. Accompanied by senior officers and PCRC Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Lawal, the CP engaged traditional rulers, local government officials, school authorities, security agencies and community leaders across the Yewa axis. In Idiroko, he praised residents for sustaining peace in the border town and urged against spreading unverified information. He also stressed that traditional rites such as the Oro Festival must be observed within legal limits and in line with citizens’ constitutional rights.
CP Ojajuni paid royal visits to the Olu of Ilaro, HRM Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, and other monarchs, where he acknowledged their support for security initiatives including the new base for the 84 Police Mobile Force Squadron. He updated them on the progress of Operation Kosaye and assured of sustained police presence. At the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Akinde Mukail, commended police efforts around the campus, while the CP appreciated the university’s donation of a police post and promised intelligence-led patrols and prompt response to security issues. He also inspected the 84 PMF Squadron and charged officers to remain professional and vigilant.
Wrapping up at Ilaro Area Command, the Commissioner called for stronger synergy, credible intelligence sharing, and active community involvement in crime prevention. He noted that Operation Kosaye has shown the value of coordinated security operations in curbing crime. CP Ojajuni also condoled with the people of Ipokia over the passing of the late Onipokia, describing him as a promoter of peace and unity. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to expanding community-centred policing and strategic partnerships to ensure lasting peace across Ogun State.
