Detectives from the Omu-Ijebu Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 22-year-old woman, Azeez Khadijat, for alleged involvement in the illegal repainting of a suspected stolen Suzuki mini bus in a bush at Omu-Ijebu. The arrest was made on Sunday, 19 April 2026, after police received credible intelligence that three men and a woman were seen repainting the unregistered vehicle along Ikhasi Road, Kajola.
According to police, the mini bus, popularly called “Korope,” was originally yellow but had been repainted white and blue to alter its identity. On sighting detectives, the suspects fled in different directions, but Khadijat was arrested inside the abandoned vehicle. The bus, which bore a Lagos State registration plate, was recovered alongside three handsets, a power bank, paint can, sandpaper, and a Type-C charging cord suspected to belong to the fleeing accomplices.
Preliminary investigations indicate the mini bus was allegedly used for criminal activities in Lagos State and was being repainted to evade detection. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, for further investigation. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni commended the operatives’ swift response and said a manhunt for the fleeing suspects has been intensified. He urged residents to report suspicious activity via 0800 000 9111
