Operatives of the Ilaro Division, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested four suspected cultists for alleged assault, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The suspects — Samson John, 25; Olufowora Michael, 28; Odeh Samuel Ejeh, 25; and Olajide Jeremiah, 28 — were apprehended after a complaint was lodged on 16 April 2026. Police said the victim reported that Samson John and six others invaded his residence around 1:00 p.m. that day, assaulted him, threatened him with an axe, and stole his iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Following a swift investigation, police arrested the four men and recovered a locally made pistol, an axe, suspected charms, and the stolen iPhone. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining gang members.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran for further investigation and prosecution. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni commended the operatives and restated the Command’s zero tolerance for cultism and violent crime, urging residents to report suspicious activity via 0800 000 9111 or 0906 283 7609.
