Ogun State Police Command has arrested seven suspects during coordinated, intelligence-led operations in Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba and Agbado for armed robbery, burglary, stealing, conspiracy and conduct likely to cause breach of peace. In Sango-Ota, Pelumi Akintande, 21, Mojeed Sanusi, 28, and 17-year-old Mubarak Lateef were nabbed over an armed robbery in Alasia Community. Police recovered a locally made cut-to-size pistol and expended cartridge, and said the search for other fleeing gang members continues.
Owode-Egba Division made two separate arrests. Damilare Makanjuola, 22, was caught scaling a fence to break into a shop at Ofada and is linked to other burglaries in Sun City Estate where electrical items and cash over ₦100,000 were stolen. Also in Owode-Egba, Tijani Jubril, 28, and Ezra Modi, 22, were intercepted in Treasure Island Estate, Awo Village, with electrical appliances allegedly stolen from a residence. In Agbado, Waris Adebesin, 22, was arrested near a secondary school with a knife after creating tension and blocking access, restoring calm to students and staff.
All seven suspects remain in custody while discreet investigations continue and exhibits have been secured for prosecution. CP Bode Ojajuni commended the operatives for swift, professional action and thanked residents for providing credible information. The Command said the arrests are part of a statewide push to dismantle criminal networks and restore lasting peace, and urged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity.
