Petralon 54 Limited has received praise from three communities in Rivers State, including Ogoloma, Okochiri, and Koniju communities in the state’s Okrika Local Government, for fostering employment and economic growth.

According to the Petroleum Industry Act of 2021, the federal government granted the domestic oil production and exploration company Petroleum Prospecting Licence No. 259 (PPL 259), making it the exclusive operator of the Dawes Island Marginal Field.
In order to accomplish this, company leaders spent the weekend visiting and interacting with the communities.

The “Community Launch” event, which highlighted the rich culture of the Okrika people, was held in the Ogoloma Town Square.

Dignitaries from the three communities attended, including youngsters, community elders, Council of Chiefs members, senior government officials, and traditional leaders.

Ahonsi Unuigbe, who was in charge of the Petralon team and included its Executive Director, Mr. Adeola Akinrinmade, Community and Government Relations Manager, Mr. Gboyega Aiyemomi, and Founder of Petralon 54, Mr. Ahonsi Unuigbe, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome given to him and other members of the Petralon 54 management team on the ground when he officially presented the company’s Petroleum Prospecting Li

Unuigbe urged the Okrika people to view the company as a partner in progress, stating that “Petralon 54 is a socially responsible organization that is committed to human and environmental wellness.”

“We are not only here to take without providing anything in return. Mutual success is guaranteed if the Okrika villages’ residents create the ideal environment for our company’s operations.

Likewise, Hon. Linda Koroma and Dr. Chris Biriowu, the spokespeople for the Ogoloma and Okochiri communities, welcomed Petralon 54 with open arms and conveyed their communities’ gratitude for the business’s efforts to establish close ties with the Okrika people.

“We are a peaceful people, but we don’t want to be treated like a given. The livelihoods of our people are devastated in the process of extracting profit from our land. Since we sacrifice our livelihoods, ecosystems, and land for prosperity, we expect to share in that prosperity, stated Hon. Linda Koroma.
According to Koroma, “we are convinced that you, Petralon 54, are intent on a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership with our communities, and for that, you have our entire support and collaboration.”

At the Petralon 54 Community Engagement Program, notable attendees included His Royal Majesty (HRM), Emmanuel Tamunoigbeindebia Ibiagolika, the Amayanabo of the Okochiri Kingdom, Hon. Linda Koroma, the Amayanabo of the Ancient Ogoloma Kingdom, HRM Michael Ateke Tom, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the spokesperson for the Amayanabo of the Ogoloma Kingdom, Dr. Chris Bir (NUPRC).
