The Federal Government is asking residents of flood prone areas to take advantage of the 2022 flood Outlook presented by the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency in order to mitigate the effect of flooding.
Speaking in Abuja at a national Consultative workshop on 2022 flood preparedness, mitigation and response in Nigeria organised by the National Emergency Management Agency, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Umar-Faroua who was represented by a deputy director said the Federal Government will play her part to mitigate the effect of flooding.
Issues of flood are the focus of this workshop as officials of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, FRSC, NSCDC and other stakeholders converge on Abuja to brainstorm on flood preparedness and mitigation.
The Director General of NEMA sets the tone for the workshop as he highlights the measures put in place by the Agency.
