President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the late Alhaji Kola Oseni as a courageous and principled man who stood firmly by his convictions. Speaking through Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, at the Seventh-Day Fidau Prayer held at Eko Club, Surulere on Wednesday, the President urged Nigerians to honour Oseni’s memory by speaking the truth without fear and remaining steadfast in doing what is right. “He was not a follow-follow man. He would only follow what he believed was right,” Hamzat quoted the President, noting that Oseni’s commitment to truth earned him widespread respect.

Family members and associates paid glowing tributes to the late community leader. Hamzat recalled a final meeting marked by Oseni’s generosity and support. Wife of the deceased, Mrs. Karling Oseni, described him as a charismatic leader and visionary family man who championed discipline, accountability, and excellence. Their son, Abdul Lateef Oseni, said his father’s authenticity and determination would continue to inspire, and urged those impacted by him to live out the values he exemplified.

Other dignitaries also eulogised Oseni. Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, Vice-Presidential running mate to Chief MKO Abiola in 1993, called him a devout Muslim whose life reflected piety and integrity, and urged Nigerians to live purposeful lives in preparation for their Creator. Chairman of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Branch, Alhaji Kamurudeen Aremu Salami, asked members to remain united and sustain the society’s mission. Prayers were offered for Allah’s forgiveness, for Aljanah Firdaus for the deceased, and for strength for the family he left behind.
