The Bola Tinubu Support Organisation in United Kingdom (BTSO UK) and Diaspora Grassroots Support have declared their support for the re-election bid of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.

The group, led by Ade Adeshina, made the declaration while presenting souvenirs to party faithfuls in Lagos.

Speaking, Mr Kunle Adewumi, Political Head, BTSO UK, said the gesture was to promote the re-election of Sanwo-Olu.

He said the group was created in November 2019 to ensure better governance across the South-West states.

“To further show our commitment, we are here to donate more campaign materials to support the re-election bid of Gov. Sanwo-Olu.

“Our hope and prayers is that these materials will be used to sensitise people in the grassroots who will in turn encourage everyone to vote for the Sanwoolu/Hamzat ticket so that they can continue the good work they have done in the last four years,” he said.

Adewumi noted that the group’s affection and support for Lagos State did not just start in this election circle and APC as a party.

According to him, In 2006, director-general in collaboration with Epe Descendant Union, UK, presented two incubators to Epe General Hospital during the tenure of Sen. Bola Tinubu to support his health care reform.

“We also worked tirelessly through HRM Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja to provide assistance to many neighbourhood primary schools within Epe axis.

“Again in 2010, the group held a community development award in the United Kingdom which had over 10 local government chairmen, three traditional rulers from Lagos.

“The then Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,Rotimi Agunsoye, led the delegation to the United Kingdom to receive several awards for community development.

“Notably also was the award given to our DG and the Epe Descendant Union by the then Gov. Raji Fashola in 2010 which was presented to the organisation through the Nigeria Ambassador to UK,” he said.

Receiving the items, Cardinal James Odumbaku, the Chairman of Sanwo-Olu Campaign Council, thanked the members of the group for the kind gesture.

Odumbaku, while urging the people to come out enmasse to support and vote, expressed optimism of the re-election of Sanwo-Olu come March 11.

“By this time next week, we will be rejoicing and celebrating the advent and victory of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term in office,” he said.
