The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria, CRAN, has expressed deep shock and grief over the passing of Deputy Commissioner of Police Khan Salihu, former DCP Finance and Administration, Lagos State Police Command. The Association described his death as a painful loss to the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos Command and the entire security sector, including crime reporters who benefited from his cooperation, accessibility and support for responsible journalism.
CRAN praised the late officer as a thoroughbred policeman renowned for discipline, administrative excellence, intellectual depth and unwavering commitment to duty. He stood out as a calm, firm administrator and problem-solver whose work strengthened internal systems, improved financial management and enhanced operational efficiency in Lagos Command. The Association noted that DCP Salihu was a rising star with the capacity and leadership traits expected to take him to the rank of Commissioner of Police and beyond before his sudden demise.
CRAN extended heartfelt condolences to IGP Olatunji Disu, CP Tijani Fatai, officers and men of Lagos Command, colleagues, friends and the bereaved family. The Association prayed that Almighty Allah grants DCP Khan Salihu Al-Jannah Firdaus, forgives his shortcomings and gives his family and the Force strength to bear the loss. CRAN said he will be remembered as a gentleman officer, disciplined leader and dedicated public servant whose legacy of professionalism and excellence will inspire future generations in the Nigeria Police Force.
