Operatives of the SWAT Unit, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested 43 suspects in a coordinated raid on a notorious hideout at Isheri-Olofin, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway opposite Kara Cattle Market. The operation was carried out around 11:00 p.m. on July 7, 2026, following intelligence that the location was being used for cult activities, drug abuse, prostitution and other crimes. During the raid, police recovered substances suspected to be Indian hemp, “Loud” and other hard drugs, along with 10 mobile phones, four power banks, a rechargeable fan, and a bag containing ATM cards and a National ID card.
The suspects — 28 males and 15 females — have been charged to court and remanded at a correctional facility. They are being prosecuted for offences including criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, membership of an unlawful society, breach of public peace, possession and use of suspected cannabis, prostitution, and operating an unlicensed brothel. The Command said some of the suspects are assisting with information on other cases, and follow-up operations are ongoing to track other members of the network. With this latest arrest, the number of suspects prosecuted since Operation KOSAYE began has risen to 76.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the SWAT team for their professionalism and described the raid as a major win for the operation’s mission to dismantle criminal hideouts and improve public safety. He warned that drug joints, brothels, cult enclaves and other black spots across the state will continue to be targeted.
