The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has paid a strategic familiarization visit to the Ogbere Area Command as part of efforts to deepen community policing and strengthen security across the state. The visit included engagements with traditional rulers, local government officials, sister security agencies, and police personnel. CP Ojajuni was received at the palace of the Oloko of Ijebu-Imusin, Oba S.A. Onafowokan, and other monarchs who described the visit as historic and commended the Command’s operational successes under Operation Kosaye, including foiling kidnapping attempts and recovering illegal firearms. The monarchs pledged continued support for the police.
At the palace of the Moyegeso of Itele, Oba Mufutau Kasali, and later at the Ogbere Area Command Headquarters, the CP met with the Area Commander, ACP Sunday Oluwadare, local government chairmen, PCRC leaders, and representatives of DSS, NIS, NSCDC, Amotekun, vigilante groups and community leaders. He briefed them on the impact of Operation Kosaye in securing border communities and urged residents to embrace intelligence-sharing as key to crime prevention. CP Ojajuni also introduced POCACOV, the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Social Vices, and encouraged the public to use the Gateway Shield platform to report suspicious activities, assuring that credible information will be acted on promptly.
The Commissioner further visited the Ijebu East Local Government Secretariat where he commended Chairman Dr. Oluwakayode Kehinde for his support, particularly in joint security operations along the Ogun–Ondo boundary. Dr. Kehinde reaffirmed the council’s commitment to partnering with security agencies. CP Ojajuni reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain proactive, intelligence-led and professional policing, stressing that security remains a shared responsibility and that Ogun State will continue to be hostile to criminal elements.
