Floods in various parts of Kwara State claimed seven lives in 2022.
Abubakar Yelwa, the Managing Director of the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission, HYPPADEC, made the announcement on Sunday in Patigi, Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State.
He identified Patigi’s riverine communities as the hardest hit by the disaster. The flood disaster affected 1,300 households and 2,800 people, according to Abubakar.

He also revealed that large hectares of farmland and houses had been submerged in Patigi. The commission was in the area to provide relief materials to the victims.
