LAGOS — Lagos State Deputy Governor and APC Governorship Candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mr. Dotun Oladipo, Managing Director and CEO of Premium Eagle Media Limited, publishers of _The Eagle Online_. Oladipo died on Tuesday at the age of 56.

In a condolence statement, Hamzat described the late media entrepreneur as a dedicated professional whose contribution to Nigeria’s digital journalism space will be sorely missed. “This is a huge loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire media community, particularly the online publishing industry which he served with distinction for almost three decades,” he said. Hamzat noted Oladipo’s career trajectory from Politics Editor at _PUNCH_ to roles at _Nigerian Tribune_, _Nigerian Compass_ and _The Sun_, before founding _The Eagle Online_ into one of Nigeria’s respected digital news platforms.

The Deputy Governor also acknowledged Oladipo’s leadership as former President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP, and pioneer President of the Innovative Media Partners Cooperative Multipurpose Society, IMPCMS. “His passion for professional development and efforts to foster collaboration among journalists and publishers will remain a lasting part of his legacy,” Hamzat added. He commiserated with the Oladipo family, the management and staff of Premium Eagle Media and _The Eagle Online_, and the wider journalism community, praying for God’s comfort and eternal rest for the departed.
