Ejike Ofoegbu Experience, owner and publisher of _Igbo Times Magazine_ and _INews_, has publicly apologized to Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, his family, and the general public over fabricated reports published on his platforms. Ofoegbu admitted that viral posts attributed to the Governor and his son — including claims of disownment, insults against Soludo’s late father, and remarks about “Ozo being ordered from Temu” — were entirely false and not based on any verified source. He said the stories were never issued by Governor Soludo, his son, or any official representative.
In his statement, Ofoegbu also retracted other misleading publications involving Governor Soludo and Mr. Peter Obi, including false claims about an election outcome. He took full responsibility, saying the posts were published to drive online traffic and revenue. “I now realize that no amount of money or online attention can justify spreading false information or damaging another person’s reputation,” he stated, expressing regret for the embarrassment and reputational damage caused.
The publisher asked for forgiveness from Governor Soludo, his family, the people of Anambra State, and readers of _Igbo Times_ and _INews_. He described the release as a full and unconditional retraction, urged the public to disregard the false stories, and pledged to uphold journalistic standards going forward to prevent a recurrence.
