To fastrack early completion of the Ughelli/Asaba dualisation project,the state executive council has approved upward review of the project from 20 billion naira to 23 billion naira.

This was part of the decisions reached at the State Executive Council meeting presided over by the Secretary to State Government Chief Patrick Ukah at Government House Asaba.

Our Asaba correspondent Akpomejero Friday reports that the Commissioner for Information Mr Charles Aniagwu said the review became necessary following the galloping inflation on prices of construction materials and increase in the scope of works on the job.

Mr Aniagwu outlined other roads that received upward review to include Alizomor/Alizor/Omumu road in Ika South from one point four billion naira to two point two billion naira,Elume roads in Sapele from one point five billion naira to two point seven billion naira.

However Commissioner for Information Mr Charles Aniagwu said the Exco approved the setting up of environmental sanitation taskforce to enhance the cleanliness of the State as the Exco directed the Ministry of Justice to harmonize all existing laws on environmental sanitation.
