Detectives at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Panti, are set to arraign the Chief Executive of Lilyworth Homes Ltd, Nnenne Hope Nwizu, over allegations of defrauding land buyers of about N450 million. Police sources said the 41-year-old was arrested at Ebute-Ero, Lagos Island, and the case was moved to SCID Panti on 21st July 2026 for further investigation by the Anti-Fraud Section.
The investigation followed a 10th July 2026 petition by Ugwunna Anayo Mark and over 30 other complainants. They alleged that Nwizu, through her company, collected roughly N9.45 million each from them for plots of land in the South-East but failed to deliver the properties or refund their money after more than two years. According to police, preliminary findings show about N450 million was allegedly obtained, and more victims have continued to report at Panti. The suspect was also accused of vacating Lilyworth’s known office address after the deals. Officers are additionally probing claims that some of the funds were used to build a large hotel at an undisclosed location.
Nwizu is currently assisting with investigations and will be charged to court once the probe is concluded. The case is one of several financial crime cases being handled by SCID Panti under DCP Dayo Akinbisehin, as the Command intensifies intelligence-led operations against organised fraud in Lagos.
