Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, signed the 2022 Appropriation Bill into law yesterday, with a total budget of N249.7 billion.

The governor praised the House for passing the bill in a timely manner at the Executive Council Chamber in Agodi, Ibadan.

He said the budget would help finish some projects, and that the administration’s internally generated revenue has increased from N1.9 billion when he first met it to over N3.3 billion now.

Similarly, the governor signed the Financial Autonomy Bill 2021 of the Oyo State House of Assembly into law yesterday.

The governor stated that the state is practicing true democracy, which is guaranteed by the principle of separation of powers between the three branches of government, and that the state would continue to put the public good ahead of other considerations.

Meanwhile, the Speaker, in a statement issued shortly after the governor signed the bill, praised Makinde’s administration for yet another laudable achievement.
