The Ogun State Police Command has announced fresh operational gains under Operation KOSAYE, with 16 suspects arrested across the state for crimes including illegal petroleum product dealings, vandalism of critical infrastructure, burglary, theft, and defilement. According to the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, the arrests followed coordinated intelligence gathering, prompt response to distress calls, forensic investigations and sustained tactical operations in line with the IGP’s strategic policing vision. Items recovered include two vehicles, one stolen motorcycle, four drums of suspected AGO, thirteen 25-litre jerry cans of diesel, one pumping machine, one generator and other exhibits.
Some of the major cases include the arrest of Kabiru Afolabi, 51, by SWAT operatives at Abule-Iroko, Sango on 21st July 2026 for alleged diesel bunkering. At Ota, Nnabike Uzolo, 26, and Chino Mgbenya, 28, were arrested for vandalising a telecommunications mast cable and have been charged to court. Agbado Division used forensic tracking to arrest four suspected burglars — Sodiq Raji, Zubby Nzube, Adeyemi Omoyajuowo and Chimezie Iwuanya — and also picked up Saliu Akinwande, 50, over the alleged defilement of an 11-year-old girl. Other operations led to the recovery of a stolen Bajaj motorcycle at Ajuwon, the foiling of a truck hijack on the Benin/Ore Expressway at Ijebu Imushin, recovery of an abandoned bus at Atan Ijebu, and the arrest of five suspects linked to separate burglary incidents at Atan Ijebu with stolen household items recovered.
CP Ojajuni commended the officers for their professionalism and reiterated the Command’s resolve to sustain Operation KOSAYE through intelligence-led policing, visibility patrols, stop-and-search, and community collaboration.
