Detectives from Ifo Division, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested 5 men over the theft and dismantling of a trailer, and recovered parts of the vehicle including the trailer head. Those in custody are the fleeing driver Temitope Omotayo Odulaja, 47, and alleged accomplices Segun Suleiman, 27, Haruna Olaogun, 49, Jimoh Wasiu, 42, and Quazzim Suleiman, 49. Police said the arrests also exposed a suspected syndicate that specializes in breaking down stolen trailers and disposing of the parts.
The investigation began on June 6, 2026 after the trailer owner reported at Ifo Division that his driver had run off with the vehicle. Led by DPO CSP Olabisi Kamorudeen, detectives deployed technical intelligence and tracked Odulaja to Ikorodu, Lagos on July 24, 2026. He was arrested and gave information that led officers to Ijebu-Ode the next day, where the other 4 suspects were picked up at different locations. Preliminary findings revealed the trailer was dismantled shortly after it was stolen, and photographs of the recovered parts have been taken as exhibits.
CP Bode Ojajuni praised the team for what he called a significant breakthrough against organised vehicle theft. He said the Command remains committed to intelligence-led policing and will continue efforts to recover the remaining parts, identify more syndicate members and prosecute everyone found culpable.
